HTML - like learning German, only very much quicker

TECHNOGNU

Well, I seem to be getting the hang of this HTML lark, thanks in no small part to the excellent online Blogger Help.

I've managed to get 'More' to appear at the bottom of long posts, so you don't have to read the whole thing on the home page. Trouble is, it also appears at the bottom of short posts. If any reader knows how to circumvent this, I'd love to hear from him. Or her. Or it.

It is rather tedious. I changed my text so it says Permalink and then I put (click Permalink for more) in brackets on shortened posts. Most unsatisfactory. There is some stuff about it in blogger help in the "hacks sent in by users" section. I can't make head nor tail of it though.

In short, I'd also love to hear from anyone who knows how to get round this too. Bah, bah and bah again!

Thanks, CH, and congrats on being the first to comment on my blog!

It was in the hacks section that I first found out how to put the 'read more' bit at the bottom. However, Blogger Help adds: "the 'read more' link is in the template, so it will appear regardless of whether a post has been truncated or not. (Modifying this feature is left as an exercise for the reader.)"

Gee, thanks, guys.
